John Carey, CFA, is the Head of Structured Securities at BNP Paribas Asset Management. He is responsible for setting strategy, generating alpha ideas, and risk budgeting for the firm’s structured securities portfolios as well as the securitized portion of multi-sector portfolios. He joined FFTW, a predecessor of BNP Paribas Asset Management, in 1998 and is based in New York. Prior to his current role, John was the Head of the MBS, ABS and Structured Finance teams and Senior Portfolio Manager for structured securities portfolios. Prior to joining us, he was a Limited Partner at Atlantic Portfolio Analytics and Management and prior to that, Senior Vice President for the Chase Manhattan Mortgage Corporation. John has 29 years of investment experience. He holds an MBA in Finance from New York University and a BA in Mathematical Economics from Colgate University. He is a CFA Charterholder.
